Brienzer Rothorn (2,350 m) is the highest peak of the Emmental Alps, rising steeply above the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz. Known for its spectacular 360° panorama, it offers views stretching from Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau to Pilatus and Lake Lucerne. The summit is accessible by the historic Brienz Rothorn steam railway or by hiking trails from Sörenberg or Brienz, making it one of Switzerland’s most scenic mountain destinations. Around the peak, visitors can explore ridge hikes, wildflower meadows, and rocky alpine trails, while photographers and paragliders enjoy some of the most dramatic landscapes in central Switzerland. Brienzer Rothorn perfectly combines adventure and accessibility — a high mountain with the soul of a wild lookout.
