Wildhorn stands as one of the highest peaks in the western Bernese Alps, marking the border between the cantons of Bern and Valais. At 3,248 meters, it’s a true alpine experience that combines glacier travel, rocky ridges, and sweeping mountain views. Most ascents begin from Lac de Tseuzier or Iffigenalp, passing by the Wildhornhütte (2,303 m) before reaching the glacier fields below the summit. The climb is suitable for experienced hikers and mountaineers seeking a moderately challenging route with incredible rewards — from the top, the panorama stretches from Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn. In winter, Wildhorn transforms into a classic ski-touring destination, with smooth slopes and dramatic light over the frozen landscape.
