Råbjerg Mile

Shifting coastal sand dune in northern Denmark, offering desert-like sands, and panoramic views.

Loading weather...

One of Europe’s largest migrating coastal sand dunes, located in northern Denmark near Skagen. Covering around 2 km² and rising up to 40 m, the dune slowly moves inland at a rate of about 15 m per year due to strong winds. Its sandy slopes and sparse vegetation create a striking desert-like landscape along the Danish coast. The area is open to visitors for walking, hiking, and photography, with panoramic views over the surrounding heathlands, pine forests, and nearby beaches.
