Rugged beach where you’ll walk among fallen tree trunks

beach

Rugged, roughly 3‑kilometer-long beach where you’ll walk among fallen tree trunks, explore fossil-rich clay ground, and sometimes need to climb or duck under debris. Staksrode Skov is a wild, dramatic forest perched on the high cliffs above Vejle Fjord in East Jutland. The forest contains steep slopes and deeply eroded clay terrain, where huge trees have collapsed and lie tangled, creating a raw, untamed feel. The forest is largely left to nature — fallen trees are not removed, giving the place a feeling of raw wilderness. There are also primitive camping spots, including a shelter on a cliff with views over the fjord.
