Arpelistock stands on the ridge dividing the cantons of Bern and Valais, offering one of the most rewarding summit experiences in the western Swiss Alps. The ascent is a classic glacier hike, typically starting from Sanetsch Pass or Lac de Tseuzier, and passes through dramatic alpine terrain with wide views over Wildhorn, the Diablerets, and the Rhône Valley. The mountain’s gentle northern slopes make it a popular objective for ski tours in winter and alpine hikes in summer, combining accessible adventure with breathtaking scenery. From the summit, the horizon opens in every direction — a 360° panorama of glaciers, lakes, and distant peaks that captures the quiet grandeur of the high Alps.
