Sanetschsee, also known as Lac de Sanetsch, is a striking high-altitude lake nestled at 2,034 m near the top of Sanetsch Pass. Framed by rugged limestone walls and the distant Tsanfleuron Glacier, the lake’s deep turquoise waters create one of the most photogenic spots in Valais. In summer, it’s a peaceful retreat for hiking, wild camping, and swimming, with trails circling the lake or continuing toward Les Diablerets. The surrounding cliffs are popular for sport climbing and multi-pitch routes, offering a mix of adventure and tranquility. Whether reached by mountain road or by the small cable car from Gsteig, Sanetschsee feels like a hidden world suspended between valleys — untouched, vast, and full of alpine serenity.
